Slideshows

Build a loop of slides once, then show it on as many screens as you like.

A slideshow is a list of slides that plays on a loop. You build it once and show it on any number of screens.

When you change a slideshow, every screen showing it picks up the change by itself. You never have to walk over to a TV to update it.

Create a slideshow

  1. Go to Slideshows and click Add Slideshow.
  2. Enter a Name, like “Reception” or “Sales floor”.
  3. Click Save.

Your new slideshow opens, ready for slides. See Slides.

To watch it before your screens do, open the slideshow and click Preview. It plays in a new browser tab, just as it will on a screen.

Show a slideshow on a screen

  1. Go to Devices and click the device.
  2. Choose the slideshow.
  3. Click Update.

The screen switches over at its next slide. To show different slideshows at different times of day, use a schedule.

Keep screens in sync

By default, each screen plays a slideshow on its own, so two screens can be on different slides. Turn on Synchronize to keep every screen on the same slide at the same time. It’s ideal for screens that hang side by side.

  1. Open the slideshow and click Edit.
  2. Check Synchronize.
  3. Click Save.

The slideshow now shows Synced under its name. A screen that joins later picks up at the slide the others are on.

Choose a transition

The transition is how a screen moves from one slide to the next. A gentle fade feels calm in a lobby, while a straight cut keeps a busy wallboard crisp. It applies to every slide in the slideshow.

  1. Open the slideshow and click Edit.
  2. Open Advanced and choose a Transition effect.
  3. Click Save.
Transition effect What you see
Cut The next slide appears straight away. This is the default.
Fade The next slide fades in over the current one.
Dip to black The current slide fades to black, then the next one fades in.
Blinds Horizontal slats turn over to reveal the next slide.
Cover The next slide slides in from the right, over the current one.
Push The next slide pushes the current one out to the left.
Zoom The next slide fades in while settling from slightly enlarged.

Under Advanced you can also turn Show progress bar on or off. It’s a thin bar along the bottom of the screen that counts down to the next slide.

Add a clock or headlines

Overlays sit on top of your slides while they keep playing. Each slideshow can have one of each kind:

  • Clock shows the current time in a corner of your choice, in the Time zone you pick.
  • RSS Feed scrolls the five newest headlines from a feed across the bottom of the screen.
  1. Open the slideshow and click Add overlay in the Overlays card.
  2. Choose Clock or RSS Feed and fill in the fields.
  3. Click Save.

To change or remove an overlay, open the menu next to it and click Edit or Delete.

Tip Running screens in several offices? Give each office its own slideshow with a clock set to its local time zone.

Rename or delete a slideshow

To rename it, open the slideshow, click Edit, change the Name and click Save.

To delete it, open the slideshow, click More actions, then Delete, and confirm. Its slides and overlays are deleted with it.

FAQ

Can I show one slideshow on several screens?

Yes. Choose the same slideshow on each device. Turn on Synchronize if you want them to stay on the same slide.

Can each slide have its own transition?

No. The transition applies to the whole slideshow.

My headlines bar isn’t showing

The bar only appears when the feed has items. Check that the feed’s URL opens a working RSS feed in your browser.

What happens to screens showing a slideshow I delete?

They’re left with nothing to show. Go to Devices and choose another slideshow or schedule for them.
